Cricket Betting at bgb — Best Odds on BPL, IPL and International Matches
From T20 to Test — bet across every format on multiple markets. Odds shift and markets grow during live in-play, keeping every moment active in bgb's cricket section.
Three Cricket Formats and Where to Bet on Them at bgb
The biggest variety in cricket betting comes from its three distinct formats — each has a different style of play, so the nature of the bets differs too.
T20 is the fastest format. Every ball matters across just 20 overs. BPL, IPL and the T20 World Cup all belong to this format and are the most popular among Bangladeshi fans. At bgb, these tournaments offer a wide range of options from Match Winner to ball-by-ball markets.
ODI, or One Day Internationals, see the pace shift across each session of 50 overs. Strategy plays a bigger role in the middle overs, making Total Runs Over/Under and partnership markets particularly popular.
Test Cricket is a five-day game of patience. A draw is a valid result here, so the odds structure differs from T20 or ODI. Session betting and draw bets are markets unique to Test cricket. bgb's Test coverage extends from ICC tournaments to bilateral series.
During the BPL season, interest in cricket betting peaks across Bangladesh, including Dhaka. Local fans are most active on bgb during Bangladesh Tigers matches.
Beyond Cricket — Football and Other Sports
bgb is not limited to cricket. In football betting you can place bets on major leagues around the world. Football commonly ends in a draw, so you work with three outcomes — Team A wins, Team B wins, or a draw. In cricket (particularly T20 and ODI) there is no draw, so the odds structure is different.
Goal-based markets are more popular in football — such as Total Goals Over/Under or Both Teams to Score. In cricket, markets are based on runs, wickets and overs. Betting strategies for the two sports are naturally different as a result.
You can also bet on the Callbreak card game at bgb — it is a very familiar card game in Bangladesh. Learn more about Callbreak betting on this page, where the game rules and markets are explained.
Esports is a fast-growing category — bgb offers the opportunity to bet on top video game tournaments from around the world. Visit the bgb Esports Betting page to find out which games and tournaments are covered.

Popular Markets in bgb Cricket
Each market requires a different type of analysis. Below are six common markets explained in plain terms — how each bet works.
Match Winner
The simplest market — which team will win. Example: Team A odds 1.80, Team B odds 2.00. A ৳500 bet on Team B returns ৳1,000 if Team B wins (৳500 profit); you lose ৳500 if Team A wins. In Test cricket the draw must also be considered.
Toss Winner
The result is decided before the match starts. Either team can win the toss — two equally probable outcomes. This is a bet purely for entertainment, not skill. Odds for both sides are generally almost equal.
Top Batsman
Which player will score the most runs in a given innings. Odds are higher because there are multiple options. You can factor in batting order and pitch type when placing this bet.
Total Runs Over/Under
Whether the total runs in a full innings or a specific number of overs will be above (Over) or below (Under) a set number. Pitch behaviour, weather and bowling lineup are all relevant considerations.
Top Wicket-Taker
Which bowler will take the most wickets in the match. A turning pitch is relevant for spinners; swing conditions matter for pacers. Odds are generally higher because there are more options.
Multi Bet
Selections from multiple matches are combined into one bet. Three selections at odds of 1.40, 1.70 and 1.80 give combined odds of 1.40 × 1.70 × 1.80 = 4.28 — a winning ৳100 bet returns ৳428. However, if even one selection loses, the entire bet is lost.
How to Read Odds — Decimal, Fractional and American
Markets at bgb are displayed in three common odds formats. Each format expresses the same probability differently — the difference is only in how it is written.
| Format | Team A (Example 1) | Team B (Example 2) |
|---|---|---|
| Decimal | 2.25 | 1.50 |
| Fractional | 5/4 | 1/2 |
| American | +125 | -200 |
Example 1 (Team A wins, stake ৳200): Decimal 2.25 means a ৳200 bet returns ৳450 in total — that is ৳250 profit plus the ৳200 original stake. Fractional 5/4 says the same thing — ৳5 profit for every ৳4 staked. American +125 means ৳125 profit on a ৳100 bet.
Example 2 (Team B, favourite, stake ৳200): At decimal 1.50 the total return is ৳300 — meaning ৳100 profit. American -200 means you need to stake ৳200 to make ৳100 profit. The minus sign indicates the favourite.
At bgb the decimal format is the easiest to read — simply multiply the odds by the stake to get the total return.
Quick Calculation Formula
- Decimal: Stake × Odds = Total Return (including profit)
- Fractional: Stake × (Numerator/Denominator) = Profit; Total Return = Profit + Stake
- American (+): The number shown is the profit on a ৳100 bet
- American (-): Stake that number to make ৳100 profit
- In a multi bet all odds are multiplied together — if any one selection loses, the entire bet is lost
Live In-Play — Odds Change Over by Over
bgb's in-play feature adds a different dimension to cricket betting. Once the match starts, odds update instantly with every wicket, every six or every dot ball.
When a team's top order collapses quickly, their odds of winning increase — meaning a bet on that team at that moment offers a higher potential return. Conversely, when a team scores heavily in the powerplay, their odds shorten.
Over-based markets are also available in-play — such as "how many runs in the next 5 overs" or "when will the next wicket fall". These short-term markets are especially popular in T20.
Live betting requires quick decisions — markets can close suddenly when a wicket falls or while a DRS review is in progress. bgb's interface is easy to use on mobile, so you can bet while watching a live match at the ground or at home.
Betting is always for entertainment — do not place large bets driven by live odds. Stay within your limits. Read the responsible gaming guidelines if you want to keep your betting under control.
Some Useful Tips for Cricket Betting
- Choose markets based on the format: In T20 the Top Batsman market is decided quickly; in Test cricket session betting requires patience. Decide which format you are betting on first, then choose the market.
- Keep track of pitch and weather: On a spin-friendly pitch, spinners are more likely to take wickets. A rain forecast increases the chance of a draw or reserve day in Test and ODI matches.
- Be careful with multi bets: Even with higher odds, if one selection in a multi bet is wrong the entire bet is lost. Use smaller stakes to enjoy multi bets for entertainment.
- Set your budget beforehand: Decide the maximum amount you will stake before each match. Do not exceed that limit even after a win.
- Avoid rushing in live markets: In-play odds change fast, but rather than betting on every ball, wait for a specific moment you have identified.
- Compare odds: Look at the odds across different markets for the same match. Sometimes you can find better odds in an alternative market. At bgb all markets are visible in one place.
Please Note
Betting is a form of entertainment. Every bet carries the risk of loss. Never bet with borrowed money or by dipping into savings. If betting becomes a problem, talk to a family member or friend.

Betting Exchange — The Concept of Back and Lay Bets
In conventional betting you bet against the bookmaker. In a betting exchange you bet against another bettor — there are two roles: Back and Lay.
Back Bet: You are betting that Team A will win. Backing ৳1,000 at odds of 2.00 gives you ৳1,000 profit if Team A wins; you lose ৳1,000 if they do not.
Lay Bet: You are betting that Team A will not win. If a bettor backs ৳1,000, your liability is ৳1,000 (৳1,000 × 1.00). If Team A does not win you receive ৳1,000; if Team A wins you pay ৳1,000. Commission applies.
Exchange betting is better suited to experienced users. New users should start with the standard Match Winner market first.
